Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican musician who was born into a family of musicians. As a child, she was inspired by classical music, boleros and the traditional romantic, ranchero, as well as romance ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos, as well as drama and opera. Ana began learning to play and sing in the early years together with her mom. She received more formal vocal training when she reached the age of 16 old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and being a young professional at the time in Mexico City and Guadalajara she performed with various chamber groups and choirs. In 2000, she relocated into the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she settled in her current home in Southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and sings Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. The love she has for performing, music, and the arts keeps her involved in local activities in both her capacity as an artist and educator. Ana was also a part of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor of the Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to be able to share with others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to help younger generations continue the tradition.
